Its founder, a merchant and migrant of Spanish origin, manages a year later to acquire “Pan El Fresno”, where he consolidates the sale of traditional Mexican bread.
By 1943, he acquired the bakery “La Universal”, located on Calle de Lirio, where initially only white bread and traditional pastries were sold.
The business of “La Universal” was expanded with a complete line of pastries, which was very well received due to the quality of its raw materials, its presentation, and competitive prices, thus providing opportunities to sell to different restaurants, banquets, and events.
The first branch of the parent company named “La Universal” was the store located in Churubusco, where the brand managed to have a presence in the south of the City.
